Along
with the English Room and Oak Foyer, the Michigan
Room was added to the Statler's meeting rooms
in 1937. It could accommodate 300 for meetings
and 200 for banquets. It measured 30 by 60 feet.
The
Michigan Room was bare and bright in comparison
to its neighboring oak paneled rooms. The ceiling
had some plaster details, however the room was
in the simple modern style.
With
the exception of new carpets, paint, and curtains,
the Michigan Room has retained its appearance
over time.
